What is The EDGE?
The EDGE is a program geared to middle school students (grades 6-8). While they attend Faith Formation during the school year to learn Catechetical information, the EDGE tries to take that information and put it into more of an application and show the teens how to apply what they learn in Faith Formation in a fun, creative, spiritual, and interactive manner.
Who is allowed to attend The EDGE events?
The EDGE is geared for teens currently in grades 6th-8th. During the Summer it is for teens that will be in grades 6th-8th in the fall. This gives them the oppurtunity over the summer to meet some teens they will be going to school with in the fall.
What is Life Teen?
Life Teen is a national program geared for High School teens. Life Teen tries to encourage teens to encounter Christ is new ways and help them to maintain good Catholic morals and lifestyles in a secular world. The programs are run in a structered pattern that encourages teens to meet others, as well as Christ, and better get to know themself. As well as their beliefs and faith. Life Teen also tries to show how to apply what they have learned from years of Faith Formation and parental guidance in the decisions they make every day. Life Teen offers a wide spectrum at each of the events including social, spiritual, intellectual, and personal growth.
Who is allowed to attend Life Nights?
Life Nights are nights geared specifically for teens in grades 9th-12th. For Summer events, Life Teen events are open to anyone that will be in grades 9-12 in the fall. Just like the EDGE, this allows teens to meet new friends and peers who have the same beliefs as them before the hectic schedules of school starts.
Who can attend Life Teen Mass?
Life Teen mass is a mass that is geared for teens. The music, homily, and even the ministries of Lectoring and serving are done by teens. The hope of Life Teen Masses is to bring enthusiam for mass back into teens’ lives. While they are geared for teens, there is something for everyone to get out of them, and it is encouraged for families and parishoners to attend to show support for the teen involvement and their choice to grow closer to Christ.
Does Life Teen Mass count as my Sunday Obligation?
YES! The Life Teen mass is a Sunday Liturgy, however it is typically more upbeat and lively then a normal Sunday liturgy might be that many are accustomed to.
I want to help with a Youth Group activity, what do I need to do?
The Youth Ministry Program is always looking for parents and young adults to help out with various tasks. To offer your services, no matter what they may be, even if it is just praying for teens, please get in contact with our Youth Minister.
